Job summary

Airbus Operations Limited in Filton, Bristol invites applications for an undergraduate internship in Structures Nonlinear Simulation & Virtual Testing. Start 16 August 2027 for 12.5 months, with 27 September 2026 deadline for applications.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering/Computer Science.
Experience in coding or scripting languages, Python preferred.
Basic skills with Git and GitLab.
Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Finite Element Method is a plus.
Working with Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Large Language Model is a plus.

Responsibilities

Explore using AI to improve simulation process and lead time.
Software tool development to enable testing and maintenance approaches using coding and scripting.
Acquire and hone scripting and coding skills alongside knowledge of structural testing techniques and “Virtual Testing” simulations.
Learn about our aircraft, their design, manufacture and in-service support.
Learn more about how Structures Tests are used to develop, validate and certify Aircraft.
Have the opportunity to work alongside Test Engineers, Simulation Engineers and Software Engineers in a transnational team.
