AWE plc is seeking an AI-Assisted Software Engineer to help deliver secure, high-quality software at pace using AI tools. This early-career role involves learning from experienced engineers and contributing to the AI Capability Development and AI Factory missions in Aldermaston, Berkshire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or a related STEM discipline.
• Hands-on software development experience from placements, academic projects or initial roles.
• Exposure to AI or automation tools in coding and basic data/ML concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices; Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to on-schedule delivery of software features with AI-driven tools.
• Ensure code and configurations comply with coding standards, cybersecurity policies, and AI governance.
• Collaborate with platform, data, and adoption teams to integrate software into the enterprise environment.
