Job summary

Plentific, headquartered in London, is seeking a Software Architect to shape the technical direction of our real-time property management platform. You will bridge product vision and engineering, guiding a team while contributing hands-on coding.

You will design scalable Django/Python microservices on Kubernetes, work with AWS, PostgreSQL, and AI-assisted tooling, and raise the bar for engineering excellence across the team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience building and operating Django-based microservices at scale.
• Experience with AI tools to assist software development and architectural writing (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor).
• Proven Tech Lead or Software Architect capacity, owning technical direction.
• Strong track record producing technical analyses with Product Managers.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems design, event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing (Celery, Redis).
• Expert understanding of PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization.
• Experience with AWS and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
• Ability to work UK working hours (+/- 3 hours).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership & strategy, translating product requirements into actionable engineering plans with AI-assisted tools.
• Define and own the technical roadmap for the team, ensuring scalability.
• Mentor engineers throughout the delivery lifecycle, from design to deployment.
• Act as the primary technical contact for the squad, aligning engineering with product goals.
• Design and evolve scalable microservices using Django and Python on Kubernetes.
• Lead API, data pipeline and distributed system design with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Write clear technical documentation for code, APIs, and architecture.
• Review, maintain and refactor code to enable new features.
