Job summary

University of Glasgow is seeking a Research Associate in Intelligent Geophysics for Offshore Wind to join the James Watt School of Engineering. The role focuses on AI-driven subsurface characterisation and collaboration with engineers, geophysicists and data scientists.

The postholder will lead processing and interpretation of offshore geophysical datasets, contribute to funding proposals, and help shape an ambitious research programme with world-class facilities.

Qualifications

• PhD in geophysics/geoscience or equivalent with independence in research
• Up-to-date knowledge of geophysical data interpretation and methods
• Ability to manage, integrate and interpret geophysical datasets

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and conduct of assigned research and project deliverables
• Document outputs, maintain records, and draft reports and papers
• Develop and sustain collaborations with internal and external partners
• Survey literature and develop research strategies to meet project needs
• Present work at conferences and seminars to enhance impact
• Contribute to proposals to secure future funding and support
