Job summary

MCS Group is working with a growing software company in Derry/Londonderry to hire a Software Engineer. You will own parts of business-critical software used across the UK, contributing to a modern development approach that embraces AI-assisted tooling.

You’ll work across the full development lifecycle, combining front-end and back-end work, APIs, databases and cloud infrastructure, with opportunities to advance as the team expands.

Qualifications

• Commercial software development experience.
• Experience across front-end and back-end development.
• Experience designing or integrating APIs and working with databases.
• Ability to manage workload with minimal direction.
• Strong focus on testing, code quality, and maintainable development.
• Interest in AI-assisted software engineering.
• Good communication with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Proactive and dependable in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Work across the full development lifecycle to build new functionality and improve an established platform.
• Gain exposure across UI, APIs, databases and cloud infrastructure.
• Take requirements, work through detail and deliver a complete solution.
• Grow with the team and progress into more senior technical responsibilities.
