Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment in Southampton is seeking a capable full-stack developer for a greenfield project. You will work across the stack and embrace AI-assisted development as part of daily workflow.

We use React/Next.js, REST APIs with Express or Nest.js, and MongoDB, plus testing with Jest. You will collaborate with product owners and tech leads to shape solutions and improve existing services, while exploring AI tools like Claude and GitHub Copilot.

Qualifications

• Proficient in React/Next.js with a modern frontend mindset.
• Experience building RESTful APIs using Express or similar.
• Knowledge of MongoDB or relational databases and testing with Jest.
• Clear communication and collaborative software development.

Responsibilities

• Create clean, tested TypeScript code across frontend and backend.
• Build and improve user-facing features, APIs and core platform functions.
• Work with databases, cloud services and deployment pipelines.
• Use AI-assisted development tools as part of your coding workflow.
• Contribute to modern development practices including agentic AI.
• Collaborate with product owners and tech leads to shape technical solutions.
• Support, maintain and improve existing services.
