Job summary

BNY Mellon in Manchester is seeking an ambitious, analytically talented professional to join our AI Compliance team to strengthen governance, validation, and oversight of AI use in line with regulatory expectations across the enterprise.

You will draft guidance, collaborate with Legal and Risk teams, support horizon scanning for AI laws (EU AI Act, US state laws), and prepare clear reporting for senior management and regulators.

Qualifications

• Experience in Financial Services compliance and AI laws or regulations.
• Strong understanding of EU AI Act and U.S. state AI laws.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for executive-ready materials.
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear narratives for engineering and business.
• Degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to uplift and expansion of AI regulatory compliance framework.
• Collaborate with Legal, Risk and Governance teams for horizon scanning and guidance.
• Represent Compliance in AI governance forums and working groups.
• Bridge AI technology governance with regulatory expectations and ethical considerations.
• Prepare reporting and risk assessments for senior management and regulators.
