Job summary

BNY is inviting applicants to join its 2027 Internship Program in Risk and Compliance in Manchester. You will gain hands-on experience supporting risk and compliance activities across global teams, with focus on AI governance and data-driven risk insights.

The 10-week program exposes interns to frameworks, policies, oversight, and collaboration with senior professionals, offering practical project work and mentorship in a dynamic financial services setting.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a 3 or 4-year undergraduate degree program with a strong focus on business-related and/or technology-related majors preferred.
• Graduating in Dec 2027 or Summer 2028
• On track to achieve a 2.1 or higher
• Does not require sponsorship for employment visa status (in the country where applying)

Responsibilities

• Support risk and compliance activities by helping teams apply frameworks, policies, and oversight practices across the firm.
• Analyze information, identify trends, and assess how risks are being managed across businesses, processes, and functions.
• Assist with reviews, reporting, and documentation that support governance, monitoring, compliance efforts, and responsible AI oversight.
• Gain exposure to key risk areas such as credit, market, liquidity, operational, technology, compliance, model, AI, and enterprise risk.
• Explore how AI, automation, analytics, and data-driven tools can improve risk identification, enhance controls, support decision-making, and create more efficient ways of working.
• Help teams think critically about AI-related risks, including accuracy, explainability, data quality, privacy, control effectiveness, regulatory expectations, and appropriate human oversight.
