Job summary

Customs Support Group B.V. is seeking an AI engineer to lead the development and customization of its market AI stack. You will design, test and implement practical agentic AI solutions on top of foundation models for document understanding, retrieval and multi-step workflows.

You will ensure reliability so operations staff can trust customs processes and avoid costly errors. You will work with Operations, Transformation, IT and Group teams to translate business needs into scalable AI-enabled

Qualifications

• 1-2 years AI engineering, software engineering or intelligent automation.
• Strong Python and SQL, with production code ownership.
• Demonstrable experience integrating large language models into production systems.
• Practical experience with at least one major cloud AI platform (Azure AI, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex).

Responsibilities

• Develop and customise AI solutions from prototype through to production ownership.
• Self-learn to use generative AI to build agents that improve the business.
• Identify automation opportunities across customs and business processes and size them honestly.
• Design solutions using generative AI, retrieval, tool calling, and structured extraction.
• Own evaluation and set criteria for pilots vs. scaling and decommissioning.
