Job summary

Stratospherec Limited is hiring an AI Automation Engineer for a UK SaaS platform. The role focuses on designing and orchestrating AI workflows that connect LLMs, agents, APIs and business systems to automate end-to-end processes with validation and human oversight.

You will enhance AI-powered pipelines, build a RAG-based support system and coordinate multi-stage workflows across teams while maintaining the PHP/MySQL/AWS stack as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering foundations with APIs, databases, testing and deployment.
• Practical experience using Claude Code, Codex or comparable AI development tools.

AI Automation Engineer – SaaS Software platform

Up to £70,000 | Fully Remote working

Stratospherec is recruiting an AI Automation Engineer for an established UK SaaS company developing its use of AI across software engineering, technical support and business operations.

The company has already built AI-powered development pipelines and a RAG-based technical support system. You will take ownership of these systems, improve their reliability and develop further automation across the business.

This role would suit a software engineer who is already developing practical AI workflows and wants to make AI engineering and automation their main focus.

The Role

Your primary responsibility will be designing and orchestrating AI workflows that connect LLMs, agents, APIs and business systems to automate complete processes, with appropriate validation, monitoring and human oversight.

Responsibilities include:

• Improving AI-powered development pipelines covering requirements analysis, planning, code generation, review, testing and deployment.

• Developing a RAG-based support system to improve ticket investigation, response accuracy, automated resolution and escalation.

• Building multi-stage workflows that coordinate AI agents, tools and systems.

• Working with operations colleagues to identify manual processes and implement practical automation.

• Maintaining an understanding of the underlying PHP, MySQL and AWS platform to support its reliability and ongoing development.

Your Experience

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong software engineering foundations, including APIs, databases, testing and deployment.

• Practical experience using Claude Code, Codex or comparable AI development tools.

• Experience building AI workflows beyond assisted coding, either professionally or through personal projects.

• An understanding of integrations, orchestration, validation and the challenges of making AI automation reliable.

• The initiative to investigate problems independently and develop appropriate solutions.

Experience with AI agents, RAG, orchestration frameworks, workflow automation, PHP, MySQL, AWS or CI/CD would be beneficial.

The Opportunity

You will join a small team already making extensive practical use of AI, with scope to introduce new approaches and take increasing ownership of technical automation.

You do not need to be an established AI specialist. The company is looking for someone who is already building and experimenting with AI and wants to develop their expertise further.

The position offers a salary of up to £70,000 and fully remote working.
