Woodrow Mercer Engineering is seeking an Experienced AHU Refurbishment Engineer for site-based projects across the UK. This hands-on role focuses on refurbishment, repairs and upgrades of air handling units, with a strong emphasis on practical fault-finding and high-quality workmanship.

The package includes a basic salary of £42,000–£50,000, a 40-hour week, and travel with overnight stays as required. Overtime and enhanced rates apply for weekends and holidays.

Qualificações

• Hands-on AHU knowledge with refurbishment experience.

Responsabilidades

• Carrying out AHU refurbishment, repairs and upgrades.
• Inspecting equipment, identifying faults and assessing component condition.
• Removing, replacing and installing AHU components including fans, motors, coils and heat exchangers.
• Carrying out mechanical or electrical installation, modifications and fault-finding.
• Working from technical drawings, specifications and installation instructions.
• Supporting testing, commissioning and handover activities.

Are you an experienced AHU Engineer looking for your next opportunity?

We’re recruiting for a specialist engineering business delivering air handling unit (AHU) refurbishment, repairs and upgrades at customer sites across the UK.

This is a hands‑on role suited to an engineer with proven AHU experience who enjoys practical site work, technical problem‑solving and delivering high‑quality refurbishment projects.

The Package

• £45,000 - £50,000 basic salary, depending on experience
• Permanent position with a 40-hour working week
• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Double time on Sundays and bank holidays
• Nationwide projects offering varied site-based work
• Travel and overnight stays required

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out AHU refurbishment, repairs and upgrades.
• Inspecting equipment, identifying faults and assessing component condition.
• Removing, replacing and installing AHU components, including fans, motors, coils, heat exchangers, panels and associated equipment.
• Carrying out relevant mechanical or electrical installation, modifications and fault‑finding.
• Working from technical drawings, specifications and installation instructions.
• Supporting testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Following site safety procedures and completing relevant job documentation.

About You

• Proven, hands‑on experience working with air handling units (AHUs).
• Experience in AHU refurbishment, maintenance, repairs or upgrades.
• Strong practical fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
• A good understanding of site safety and safe working practices.
• Able to work independently and alongside other site engineers.
• Willing to travel nationwide and stay away from home as required.
• Full UK driving licence.

Experience with fan and motor replacements, EC fans, variable speed drives, HVAC controls or BMS interfaces would be advantageous.

Candidates should have relevant mechanical or electrical experience and appropriate qualifications for the work they undertake.
