Job description

Agricultural Service Engineer required. Our client is a long-standing family business that has been in the agricultural and ground care industry for over 100 years. They are now seeking an Agricultural Service Engineer due to business growth. This position is based at the Buckingham depot.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a range of premier farm equipment from brands such as JCB Agriculture, Amazone, McHale, Lemken, and Sumo.

1. Service and maintain JCB and other agricultural machinery according to manufacturer specifications to ensure machine reliability and safety.
2. Have a keen eye for detail, report machine defects, and upsell the company's services where possible.
3. Diagnose and rectify electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, and other faults prior to repairs.
4. Operate diagnostic software via a laptop (training provided).
5. Complete detailed reports of work performed, including photographs and documentation of work times.
6. Understand GPS, telematics, and machine controllers.
7. Ensure machines returned from demonstrations are complete and undamaged.
8. Consult with service departments on operational matters.
9. Prepare for shows, open days, and working events.
10. Attend factory training days when available.
11. Possess 3+ years of experience with various machinery, preferably in agriculture, commercial vehicles, or construction industries.
12. Relevant qualifications in Land-Based Engineering are advantageous.
13. Hold a full UK driving license.

Agricultural Service Engineer Salary & Benefits

1. Working hours: Monday - Thursday, 8am - 4.30pm; Friday, 8am - 3.30pm; ½ hour lunch (39-hour week).
2. Holiday package: 24 days + 8 bank holidays.
3. Pension: 3% employee contribution, 7% employer contribution.
4. Company vehicle and mobile phone provided.
5. Ongoing training as needed.
6. Overtime available: Mon-Sat at time and a half; Sundays and bank holidays at double time; day in lieu for bank holidays.
7. Some weekend work may be required during peak times.
