Job summary

McGinnis Loy Associates is working with a fast-growing Top30 Accountancy Practice near Cheltenham to recruit a Qualified ACA or ACCA Accounts Senior/Assistant Manager for its Rural Business Client Accounts team. You will manage a portfolio of agricultural clients, deliver expert accounts and tax guidance, and mentor junior staff.

Role split typically 60% Accounts and 40% Tax/VAT, with strong emphasis on client relationships and advisory work.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA or ACCA with 2+ years in agricultural sector.
• Role typically 60% Accounts and 40% Tax/VAT.
• Ability to manage client portfolios for rural businesses.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation, completion and analysis of annual accounts and business tax computations.
• Provide remuneration planning and profit forecast advice for farming and agri‑business client base.
• Advise on capital taxes and VAT reviews for farming clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for value add in tax planning and broader commercial objectives.
• Mentor junior team members and represent the firm at major agricultural client events.
