Autograph Recruitment is partnering with a long-established South West practice to recruit a Senior Agricultural Accounts Manager in Exeter. You will manage a portfolio of rural clients, delivering year-end accounts, tax and advisory services with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

The role emphasizes leadership, client relationship management and mentoring junior staff, while supporting business development and cross-service growth within the firm’s specialist agricultural team.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Experience in an accountancy practice
• Experience with agricultural or rural clients and relevant tax knowledge
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage client portfolios effectively

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of agricultural and rural clients, providing accounting and advisory services
• Reviewing and preparing year-end accounts and associated tax returns
• Overseeing VAT return preparation and ensuring compliance

We are working with a highly reputable and long-established accountancy practice in the South West that is looking to appoint a Senior Agricultural Accounts Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to join a specialist team, managing a diverse portfolio of rural and agricultural clients while playing a key role in the firm’s continued growth.

The Role

• Managing a portfolio of agricultural and rural clients, providing a full range of accounting and advisory services
• Reviewing and preparing year-end accounts, as well as associated tax returns
• Overseeing VAT return preparation and ensuring compliance
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, handling day-to-day queries and providing strategic advice
• Supporting business development activities and promoting additional services
• Managing workflows, deadlines, and billing across the portfolio
• Working closely with senior leadership on client matters and projects
• Leading, mentoring, and developing junior team members

Requirements

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Strong background within an accountancy practice
• Proven experience working with agricultural or rural clients, including relevant tax knowledge
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage client portfolios effectively
• Commercial awareness and an interest in business development
• Leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and support a team
