Job summary

Speedy Freight is seeking a Scrum Master to keep our engineering delivery moving, remove blockers, and drive agile performance across the UK division. You will work with the Head of Technology and Head of Product to keep sprints on track and foster an environment where high-quality software is built.

You will coach teams, facilitate ceremonies, and ensure delivery meets standards while reporting progress with Azure DevOps data.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Scrum Master within a commercial software development environment.
Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid agile delivery frameworks.
Experience facilitating cross-functional engineering teams.
Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar delivery management tools.
Confidence coaching teams and improving agile ways of working.
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Keep sprint delivery on track by protecting the team from unnecessary interruptions and scope creep.
Remove blockers quickly and escalate delivery risks before they impact deadlines.
Ensure work entering a sprint is ready and completed work meets agreed standards.
Maintain accurate sprint boards and delivery data within Azure DevOps.
Track key engineering performance metrics, including DORA metrics, and support delivery reporting.
Coach developers in agile best practice and help drive continuous improvement across the team.
Work closely with Product and Technology leaders to ensure smooth sprint planning and delivery.
