Job description

Employment type:

Permanent

Location:

London/Kubrick HQ (QVS). Client engagements predominantly London & Southeast. (May require client site visits)

The Opportunity:

We're looking for an experienced Agentic Forward Deployed Engineer to help our clients turn the potential of agentic AI into real-world business impact. Working at the intersection of AI engineering, solution architecture and consulting, you'll take complex customer challenges from initial idea through to production - designing and deploying agentic AI solutions that deliver measurable value.

About Kubrick:

Kubrick is an award-winning AI consultancy helping organizations turn AI ambition into measurable, real-world impact. We design, build and scale solutions that solve complex business challenges and deliver lasting value.

We work with leading organizations across industries including financial services, healthcare, retail, energy, aviation, and the public sector, and partner with some of the world’s leading technology providers, including Microsoft, Snowflake, Databricks, and Collibra.

What sets us apart is how we build capabilities and careers alongside the solutions we deliver. Through continuous learning, hands-on experience, and a collaborative culture, our people develop deep expertise while solving complex, real-world challenges for our clients.

The Role:

As an Agentic Forward Deployed Engineer (Agentic FDE) at Kubrick, you'll work directly with customers to identify where agentic AI can create genuine business value - then design it, build it, deploy it and make it work in the real world.

The role sits at the intersection of AI engineering, solution architecture, consulting and product thinking, taking ideas from an initial customer conversation all the way through to production. You'll do it alongside some of the best technology and specialist capability in the market, including Anthropic Claude, Microsoft Foundry, Copilot Studio, Azure, Databricks and Snowflake.

The role requires someone who can move comfortably between a customer boardroom, a whiteboard architecture session and a development environment.

Your work will include:
  • Working with customers to uncover high-value opportunities for agentic AI, from intelligent automation and knowledge work to decision support and complex operational workflows
  • Turning ambiguous business problems into practical, measurable AI solutions
  • Designing agentic architectures covering agents, tools, models, data, orchestration, human oversight and evaluation
  • Rapidly prototyping and iterating solutions with real users
  • Building and deploying production-grade agentic AI solutions
  • Integrating agents with enterprise data, APIs, applications, workflows and identity systems
  • Ensuring solutions are secure, governed, observable, reliable and cost-effective
  • Establishing evaluation, testing and monitoring approaches so customers can understand how their AI is performing
  • Leading technical workshops and communicating complex ideas to everyone from engineers to senior executives
  • Supporting pre-sales - shaping opportunities, developing technical propositions, contributing to demos and helping customers understand what's possible
  • Creating reusable patterns and accelerators that make the next AI solution faster and better
Technical Leadership:
  • Demonstrable experience providing technical leadership for engineering teams on AI-oriented projects, ideally in a consultancy environment
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence decision-making at senior levels
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, ethical, accuracy and security considerations for developing autonomous agentic systems
  • (Desirable) Degree, Masters or Doctorate in Software Engineering, Computer Science or ML/AI related subject
  • Strong software engineering and solution-development skills, with the ability to build, test, debug, integrate, and operate production services
  • Hands-on experience designing AI, data, cloud, automation, or enterprise application solutions
  • Ability to work across APIs, data platforms, databases, identity, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise integration patterns
  • Understanding of agentic AI concepts, including orchestration, tool use, retrieval, memory, planning, multi-agent patterns, human oversight, and evaluation
  • Ability to translate between business outcomes and technical implementation choices
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, communication, and technical storytelling skills
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments, prioritising effectively, and taking ownership from discovery through deployment
  • Awareness of enterprise security, data governance, responsible AI, privacy, and compliance requirements
