Job summary

Okarno is seeking an Operations Shift Manager to lead the afternoon shift of our warehouse operations in the Nottingham area. You will be responsible for safety, service, quality and productivity, and you will drive performance across frontline teams and Area Supervisors.

This is a key leadership role requiring decisions under pressure, planning resources and delivering continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading teams within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, labour planning, workflow management and KPIs.
• Commitment to health and safety and ability to maintain high standards across the operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage afternoon shift operations, ensuring safety, quality, service and productivity targets are achieved.
• Coach and develop Area Supervisors and frontline teams, providing clear direction and feedback.
• Plan and optimise shift resources, including labour deployment and workflow priorities.
• Monitor performance data and identify improvement opportunities; act to resolve challenges.
• Collaborate with internal teams and transport partners to ensure smooth communication and excellent customer service.
