Job summary

Whitegrove Primary School’s The Nest is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (Level 2) to support pupils with additional needs in our specialist SEND provision. We offer a nurturing, inclusive environment and a team dedicated to helping children develop confidence, independence and social skills.

The role is 12 hours per week, term-time only, 12:30pm–3:30pm, four afternoons. Permanent contract. Salary £13.67–£14.31 per hour including fringe allowance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Patient, compassionate and adaptable with strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience in school/SEND settings is advantageous, not essential.
• Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including communication, sensory, social and emotional needs.
• Deliver engaging, individualised learning activities that promote progress.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Assist with personal care needs while promoting independence and dignity.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENDCo and colleagues to provide consistent support.
