Job summary

Nest at Whitegrove Primary School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join The Nest, our specialist SEND provision. You will support children with diverse needs to build confidence, communication and independence in a nurturing environment.

Deliver engaging activities, work with teachers and the SENDCo, and support emotional regulation, personal care where needed, and inclusion in every session. This role offers collaboration and meaningful development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Patient, compassionate, adaptable and able to build positive relationships.
• Ability to stay calm when children experience difficulties.
• Understanding safeguarding, confidentiality and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, individualised learning activities that encourage progress and independence.
• Support emotional regulation, positive behaviour and developing social skills.
• Help children access sensory, creative and practical learning opportunities.
• Work closely with teachers, the SENDCo and colleagues to ensure high-quality support.
• Support personal care needs where required, promoting dignity and independence.
