Create Education in Herne Hill is seeking a warm, proactive Learning Support Assistant to support a Reception-aged child with SEND. The role focuses on 1:1 support, adapting activities, and working within an inclusive EYFS setting alongside teaching staff and external professionals.

The position is a fixed-term maternity cover with potential for future opportunities from September 2027, offering term-time hours and additional pay for after-school clubs.

Formación

• NVQ Level 2 Early Years or equivalent qualification.
• Level 3 qualification is desirable.
• Previous experience supporting children with SEND is essential for this 1:1 role.
• Good understanding of EYFS framework.

Responsabilidades

• Provide 1:1 support to a Reception-aged child with SEND in line with their EHCP.
• Support daily routines, transitions, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Break learning activities into manageable steps with visual aids and adapted resources.
• Assist communication using AAC devices and Makaton where appropriate.
• Deliver targeted learning interventions under guidance of teachers and professionals.
• Collaborate with speech and language therapists and other specialists.
• Differentiate activities to meet individual learning needs.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive relationships.
