Job summary

Queen Mary’s College is seeking a reliable caretaker to join our Site Services team at a busy multi‑facility site in Basingstoke. The role focuses on maintaining buildings and grounds, supporting safety procedures, and assisting with exams delivery and campus operations to keep students and staff safe and comfortable.

Key duties include basic plumbing and electrical fault response, lighting and heating management, water safety checks, and collaborative contractor oversight.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and redecoration duties to keep study/workspaces fit for purpose
• Support for Exams Team to ensure compliant delivery and collection of examinations
• Support for the commercial facilities and Sport/PE Department to ensure safe delivery of services and equipment compliance
• Security: assist with contractor management and ensure safety compliance across campus
• Identify and rectify trip hazards; monitor water systems and carry out routine safety checks
• Provide basic plumbing and minor repairs; respond to electrical trips and power interruptions
