Job summary

Appleton Thorn Primary School in England seeks a Play Worker for a permanent contract starting November 2026. The role is 11 hours per week during term time, Tuesday-Friday 3.30pm-6.15pm, Grade 3 pay £13.48-£13.70 per hour.

You will provide play and learning activities in a safe environment, support before and after school, and work with staff, pupils and parents, with safeguarding as a priority.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children in an educational setting.
• Desirable experience with children with special educational needs.
• Team player with a good sense of humour and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfasts and/or tea as required.
• Clean food preparation areas, equipment and utensils.
• Assist with register procedures and attendance.
• Work within school club policies and safeguarding guidelines.
• Ensure children are delivered to/collected safely from their classroom or designated point.
• Maintain confidentiality and data protection in all duties.
• Be willing to undertake first aid training.
