Job summary

Wolvercote Primary School is seeking a Childcare Support staff member for the after-school club. The role runs term-time from 2:45 pm to 6:00 pm, at Wolvercote Primary School, Oxford. It is a permanent, term-time post with pro-rata Grade 4 pay and a start as soon as possible.

The person will supervise pupils, encourage active play, and contribute to a safe, welcoming after-school environment that supports wellbeing and development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of working effectively and empathetically with children.
• The ability to encourage positive play, outdoor movement, and active participation.
• An understanding of child development and emotional needs.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Resilience, adaptable problem-solving skills, and the enthusiasm to share your interests with pupils.

Responsibilities

• Supervise outdoor play and safe arrival from the end of the school day.
• Lead organised sports and games to promote participation and enjoyment.
• Facilitate daily snack times and assist with smooth transitions.
• Support pupils' personal development and wellbeing in a caring environment.
