Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is seeking an enthusiastic after-school club assistant to join our new club at a local school. You'll work daily after school from 3.00pm to 6.00pm, supporting the Club Lead with day-to-day operations and supervising children.

You'll help plan and deliver age-appropriate play activities, perhaps sports, crafts and games, prepare snacks and drinks, and assist with registers and first aid.

Qualifications

• Experience with children in play or educational settings.
• Knowledge of appropriate play activities, sports, crafts, stories and songs.
• Food hygiene certificate, or willingness to complete.
• First aid certificate, or willingness to complete.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Warm, friendly, imaginative and fun personality.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver play activities suitable for the age group.
• Lead activities such as sports, crafts and games.
• Supervise children and ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Prepare snacks and drinks.
• Support day-to-day tasks including administering first aid, checking registers and preparing activities.
