Job summary

Surrey Independent Living Charity is seeking a caring Personal Assistant to support a 14-year-old girl with complex needs, autism and learning disabilities, at her home in Godalming. After-school sessions and weekend hours may apply.

You will assist with daily living, personal care, play and activities, and help with evening routines. Build a warm, trusting relationship with the family while promoting safety, wellbeing and engagement in the local community.

Qualifications

• Experience with autism, learning disabilities or complex needs is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Meet school transport at home after school.
• Provide supervision and support during sessions.
• Play and engage in activities with the child.
• Support outdoor activities when appropriate.
• Prepare and assist with meals; encourage fluid intake.
• Provide personal care including toileting, pad changes and bathing.
• Assist with evening routines and getting ready for bed.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship to support emotional wellbeing.
• Potential weekend/community outings; driving licence and car a bonus.
