Job summary

Archbishop Runcie CE (VA) First School in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, is seeking an experienced childcare/supervisory assistant to support the After School Club. The role runs term-time 3:15pm–5:30pm with 15 minutes setup, and may include additional paid hours during term time to meet needs.

You will supervise and engage children in purposeful play, create a stimulating environment, handle food hygiene tasks, and communicate effectively with parents. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising and engaging children in purposeful play.
• Passion for creating a stimulating environment and engaging activities.
• Suitable food hygiene qualifications and experience with allergies.
• Effective communication with parents and colleagues.
• Willing to participate in all aspects of school life with families.
• High expectations of children's achievements and behaviour.
• Flexible and able to work well in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in after-school activities and ensure safety.
• Facilitate a range of purposeful play and snack time.
• Assist with setting up and tidying at the end of each session.
• Be flexible and cover additional paid hours as required.
