Job summary

Archbishop Runcie CE (VA) First School in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, is seeking an experienced childcare/supervisory assistant to support the After School Club. The role runs term-time 3:15pm–5:30pm with 15 minutes setup, and may include additional paid hours during term time to meet needs.

You will supervise and engage children in purposeful play, create a stimulating environment, handle food hygiene tasks, and communicate effectively with parents. DBS checks apply.

Who do we need?

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of our expanding wraparound provision to further advance our school offer. The post will include serving children an after-school snack and engaging children in a range of activities during their time in the club. It will be an opportunity to play a full part in the continued development of our vision for all our children to become confident, secure, caring individuals who flourish in the love of God.

This post is suitable for an experienced childcare or supervisory assistant and/or someone with a good level of qualification. We are looking for a caring and meticulous team member who will go the extra mile for the benefit of the school community.

The successful candidate will set high standards for themselves, the school and our children. S/he will have a positive outlook and will be excited at the prospect of working as part of a small team where everyone "mucks in".

What does it involve?

Term time (38 weeks): After School Club runs from 3:15pm until 5:30pm. The post includes 15 minutes setting up / tidying up at the end of each session. There is 1 training day included.

Additional hours: The postholder will be expected to be flexible and work additional (paid) hours, during term time, to meet the needs of the school if required.
