Job summary

Mauldeth Road Primary School is seeking an organised, enthusiastic and experienced Play Worker Manager to lead our Wrap Around Care team and oversee the delivery of a safe, welcoming and enjoyable After School Club for children across the primary age range. This part-time role (12.5 hours per week) is permanent, term time only plus agreed training days, with a start date of 3 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and understands the value of play in children’s development.
• Ability to lead, support and motivate a small team in a busy school environment.
• Organised, reliable, approachable and able to use initiative.
• Communicates clearly and professionally with children, families, colleagues and school leaders.
• Remains calm, fair and positive when managing routines, behaviour or unexpected situations.
• Committed to safeguarding, equality, inclusion and the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day running of the wrap around care club.
• Oversee play and activity provision for the after school club.
• Supervise staff and oversee snacks and daily routines.
• Promote positive behaviour and a calm, inclusive environment.
• Ensure the setting remains well-organised and compliant with school policies.
