Job summary

Wadebridge Primary Academy is seeking an After School Club Assistant to join our wrap-around care team. You will help create a safe, happy and engaging environment for pupils across the school, with responsibilities including supervising play, preparing rooms and assisting with refreshments.

The role runs on Wednesdays and Fridays from 15:00 to 18:00 (3 hours per session), term-time with a flexible, supportive team and a focus on safeguarding and positive pupil wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Enjoys working with children and supporting their wellbeing.
• Upholds and promotes the school’s values and inclusive ethos.
• First aid experience is desirable but not essential.
• Able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
• Reliable, flexible and committed to delivering a positive after-school experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide a balanced, stimulating, secure play programme and activities suited to children’s needs.
• Set up play equipment and ensure it is in good condition.
• Prepare rooms and resources; tidy away materials safely after sessions.
• Prepare food as required and follow hygiene/allergy procedures.
• Escort children to and from the school and ensure safe handover to carers.
• Administer First Aid when required and record all incidents.
• Support pupils during the 15:00–18:00 sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays.
