Job summary

Mauldeth Road Primary School is seeking a caring Play Worker to join our Wrap Around Care team in Manchester. This permanent, term-time only role is part-time (12.5 hours per week) with a pay rate of £12.71 per hour, starting 2 November 2026.

You will help supervise children, support play and creative activities, assist with snacks and routines, and promote a calm, welcoming after-school club. Working with colleagues, you will contribute to safe, inclusive experiences for pupils and families,

Qualifications

• Paediatric background or related child welfare training.
• Experience with first aid, food hygiene and safeguarding.
• Desirable leadership training to support the wrap-around team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children and support play and creative activities.
• Assist with snacks and daily routines to ensure smooth after-school care.
• Promote positive behaviour and a calm, inclusive club environment.
• Work with colleagues to keep children safe, happy and engaged.
