Job summary

Choice Teachers is seeking a confident and experienced Deputy Manager to lead our after school club in Waltham Cross. This hands-on childcare role involves leading the session, delegating duties, and supporting a small team from 3pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

The ideal candidate will have at least Level 2 childcare qualification, 2+ years of relevant experience in an after school club or similar setting, strong communication and safeguarding knowledge, and a positive, proactive approach when

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 Childcare qualification.
• At least 2 years' relevant childcare experience.
• Experience in an after school club, nursery, pre-school or similar setting.
• Confidence in delegating tasks and managing staff during a session.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• A positive, enthusiastic approach to working with children.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the smooth running of the 3pm-6pm session.
• Supervise and engage with children through play and activities.
• Delegate duties and support the staff team.
• Help maintain a safe, fun and welcoming environment.
• Support with behaviour management, snacks and daily routines.

Deputy Manager - After School Club

Waltham Cross | Monday-Friday, 3pm-6pm

We are looking for a confident and experienced Deputy Manager to join our friendly after school club.

This is a hands-on childcare role, similar to a Playworker position, but with the added responsibility of leading and managing the session and delegating duties to the team.

The successful candidate must have:

• Minimum Level 2 Childcare qualification
• At least 2 years' relevant childcare experience
• Experience in an after school club, nursery, pre-school or similar setting
• Confidence in delegating tasks and managing staff during a session
• Good communication and organisational skills
• A positive, enthusiastic approach to working with children
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare
