Job summary

Wansdyke School, part of Acorn Education Trust, seeks a Wraparound Care Assistant to support the after-school club. The role involves helping plan activities for primary-aged children, maintaining a safe and engaging environment, and assisting the Wraparound Care Leader while liaising with staff and parents.

3.15pm–4.30pm Mon/Wed and 3.15–5.35pm Tue/Thu, 38 weeks/year. The position is fixed-term until 31 August 2027, with a pro rata salary of £25,220 per annum, paid at £13.07/hour.

Qualifications

• Has a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for children.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with pupils, staff and parents.
• Self-motivated, energetic and proactive to support safe, high-quality care.
• Experience working with children in play/educational settings.
• Food handling experience and/or a Food handling certificate (or willingness to complete one).
• Strong team player with a warm and caring approach.
• First Aid training (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and organising a range of activities suitable for primary-aged children.
• Ensure a safe, caring and stimulating environment for all children who attend the after-school club.
• Support the Wraparound Care Leader and communicate with children, staff and parents.
