Affiliate Technical Consultant - Windows Server, Manchester

We are recruiting for an Affiliate Technical Consultant (Windows Server Security Remediation) for a 3-6 month contract starting in May. Some travel to Manchester is expected as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and secure Windows Server environments
• Identify and remediate unpatched systems and misconfigurations
• Utilize tools and techniques for local and remote auditing, scripting, and automated remediation (PowerShell)
• Work in environments with incomplete documentation or unknown configuration baselines
• Work independently with minimal supervision, investigating and resolving issues
• Document findings, actions, and outcomes clearly and consistently
• Apply IT security principles, risk-based remediation, and consider operational impacts of changes
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and service desk teams to coordinate actions

Qualifications:

• Experience with Windows Server administration and security
• Knowledge of auditing, scripting, and remediation tools (PowerShell)
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
• Understanding of IT security principles and risk management
• Experience with structured change management and stakeholder communication
• (Desirable) Experience in security hardening, server role assessment, and virtualized infrastructure (VMware vSphere/ESXi)
