We are recruiting for an Affiliate Technical Consultant (Windows Server Security Remediation) for a 3-6 month contract to start in May.

Some travel to Manchester expected as necessary

What You'll Bring To The Table

  • Substantial experience administering and securing Windows Server environments
  • Ability to identify and remediate unpatched systems and misconfigurations
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques for local and remote auditing, scripting, and automated remediation (e.g. PowerShell)
  • Comfortable working in environments with incomplete documentation or unknown configuration baselines
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, using initiative to investigate and resolve issues
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills - ability to log findings, actions taken, and outcomes clearly and consistently
  • Strong awareness of IT security principles, risk-based remediation, and operational impacts of changes
  • Open approach to working as part of our team to deliver flexibly and at pace to resolve client challenges as they emerge
  • Experience working within structured change management, bringing a proactive approach to consulting & communicating with stakeholders
  • Open approach to collaborating with infrastructure, security, and service desk teams to coordinate actions and handoffs
  • (Desirable) Experience conducting security hardening against industry standards
  • (Desirable) Experience assessing server roles, dependencies, and business use to determine whether systems can be safely decommissioned
  • (Desirable) Understanding of virtualised infrastructure - ability to operate in environments hosted on VMware vSphere/ESXi
