Job summary

Safran is seeking an Engineering Development Assistant in Wolverhampton to support the Development Engineering team with component testing, test rig prep and data collection. You will work with engineers on motor position sensor testing and report findings, gaining practical aerospace engineering experience.

The role involves preparing test rigs, recording results accurately, and assisting in TRL4/TRL5 reviews while collaborating with the team in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Interest in engineering, electronics or component testing.
• A methodical approach and good attention to detail.
• Confidence using spreadsheets to record and organise data.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and communicate findings clearly.
• Practical approach to working with test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support motor position sensor test programme, including testing MAQ and Allegro chips.
• Assist with setting up and maintaining test rigs and equipment.
• Carry out testing in accordance with agreed specifications and accurately record results.
• Collate test data for review with the engineering team, highlighting findings and any issues.
• Support hardware and software setup for temperature testing.
• Report findings to subject matter experts and contribute to daily review meetings.
• Assist with preparing documentation and data packs for Technology Readiness Level (TRL4 and TRL5) reviews.
