Job summary

OP in Slough is seeking a Test Engineer on a contract basis to join the Engineering & Environmental Test Laboratory. The role focuses on qualification testing of complex electromechanical products using specialist lab equipment.

You will perform mechanical and environmental testing, operate instrumentation, conduct failure investigations, and produce technical reports while supporting product development and maintaining safe laboratory practices.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental or a related Engineering discipline.
• Experience within a laboratory, product testing or validation environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical testing, laboratory instrumentation and environmental test equipment.
• Experience with vibration, thermal, climatic or reliability testing would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and environmental qualification testing.
• Operate laboratory instrumentation and environmental test equipment.
• Conduct failure investigations and root cause analysis.
• Produce technical reports and analyse test data.
• Support product development through testing and validation.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained and operated safely.
