Job summary

Safran UK is seeking a Test and Development Engineer for our Pitstone site. You will plan, execute and analyse tests to support development and qualification activities across electrical and mechanical systems.

You will work with high-speed drives and related instrumentation in a collaborative R&D environment, maintaining test capabilities and contributing to process improvements while meeting project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Engineering-related qualification (mechanical or electrical) with experience in development activities.
• Experience in electrical or mechanical development activities.
• Ability to use laboratory instrumentation and test rigs.
• Follows procedures and works independently or in a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude with flexible approach.
• Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Desirable knowledge of rotating machines and data acquisition tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and execute testing to support development and qualification tests on Safran products.
• Perform data analysis of test results to identify trends and product concerns.
• Maintain current and qualification testing capabilities and innovate testing processes.
• Install system wiring in test cells and modify test rigs for new equipment.
• Mechanical assembly of prototypes and development units.
