Job summary

Safran in Pitstone seeks a Test and Development Support Technician to join the R&D Test team on a 6-12 month contractor basis with a view to permanency. You will provide support, installation and maintenance to Engineering Test Rigs used to test Electric Motors and Generators for aerospace applications.

You will help test setup, install new equipment and fabricate parts to keep rigs running for varied customer requirements, working with Engineers to ensure safety and high quality.

Qualifications

• Essential: Engineering qualification related to role (Wiring Regs, NVQ, mechanical apprenticeship, electrical/electronic quals).
• Essential: Ability to use or learn machining centres (CNC and manual).
• Essential: Safe working and adherence to HSE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide support, installation and maintenance to Engineering Test Rigs.
• Set up tests and new equipment; help make parts to keep rigs running for varied customer requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure tests run smoothly and safely.

We are looking for passionate individuals to join our R&D Test team as a Test and Development Support Technician at our Pitstone site. The role is initially for 6-12m as a contractor with an option for it to become permanent.

As a Test and Development Support Technician at Pitstone you will be providing support, installation and maintenance to our Engineering Test Rigs. These systems are used to test and validate our Electrical Motors and Electrical Generators used across a range of applications in the Aerospace industry. You will support the Engineers in this department to set up tests, new equipment and help to make parts and equipment to keep them running for different customer requirements.

• Engineering qualifications like Wiring Regs, Mechanical apprenticeships, NVQs, or Electrical or Electronics Qualifications or other relevant to the role – Essential
• Ability to use or learn Machining centres, such as CNC and Manual; Mills, Lathes, Grinders etc – Essential
• Safe working and good attitude to HSE requirements – Essential
• Experience with plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics – Desirable
• Experience with test equipment like Gauges, Meters, and Tools - Desirable

• Early finish on a Friday - 0800-1645 Mon-Thurs, 0800-1200 Friday
