Job summary

Reed in Accrington is seeking an experienced Stores & Inventory Manager to lead the stores operation across engineering, manufacturing and MRO contexts. You will manage inventory accuracy, goods movements and ensure safe, reliable service on site.

Day-to-day responsibilities include risk assessments, on-site leadership, KPI reporting and driving stock optimisations with supplier coordination. A strong background in warehouse, supply chain or similar is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading stores, warehouse or MRO teams.
• Proven commercial acumen with managing margins and costs.
• Strong purchasing, order management and stock-control knowledge.
• Experience with ERP or stores-management software.
• Solid understanding of HSEQ and risk assessments.
• Ability to monitor KPIs and drive service recovery.
• Strong numerical and data interpretation skills.
• Ability to balance customer urgency with safety and policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead a safe, compliant operation with risk assessments.
• Owner of day-to-day contract delivery and service levels.
• Be the on-site primary contact across departments.
• Control stores activity: goods-in, put-away, booking-out.
• Manage inventory, stock accuracy and variance control.
• Oversee site commercial performance including margin.
• Deliver KPI, safety and financial reporting with actions.
• Identify stock optimisations and process improvements.
