Job summary

Saab BlueBear in Bedfordshire seeks a skilled modelling and simulation engineer to develop and validate aircraft models and analysis tools. You will deliver customer-focused simulation support, build Simulink models and auto-code to C/C++/DLL, and verify results against requirements.

You will work within Saab BlueBear’s Air Combat Simulation team, contributing to distributed simulations and tool development while ensuring documentation and quality standards are met.

Qualifications

• Requires National Security Vetting clearance (SC) or ability to obtain it.
• Engineering degree in a relevant subject.
• Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink (Stateflow) and auto-coding to C/C++ and DLL.
• Experience with flight dynamics and aircraft performance modelling.
• Knowledge of Earth coordinate systems and sensor/signature modelling.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a small team delivering customer-focused modelling and simulation support.
• Develop requirements from customer briefs and translate into models and tools.
• Build and modify models and analysis tools to meet customer needs.
• Develop and test Simulink models and auto-code to C/C++ and DLL.
• Integrate models into system-of-systems and distributed simulations.
• Create documentation such as User Guides and Verification reports.
