Job summary

Saab UK, part of Saab Blue Bear Business in Bedfordshire, seeks a Flight Control Systems Engineer to develop, test and deploy safety-critical software for autonomous flight systems using MATLAB/Simulink on site.

You will contribute to requirements definition, validation and deployment, with real-world flight testing and reporting to the Head of Digital Systems Engineering, in a multidisciplinary team driving cutting-edge UAS technologies.

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace engineering or similar.
• Understanding of aerodynamics and flight mechanics and their impact on flight control.
• Experience using MATLAB/Simulink to develop algorithms and control laws.
• Hands-on design and commissioning of flight control systems.
• Existing SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and test safety-critical software for flight systems.
• Assist in requirements definition and deployment to target hardware.
• Conduct real-world flight testing and present findings in reports.
• Participate in development of standard operating processes and continuous improvement.
