Job summary

DCS Recruitment Limited is recruiting two Trainee Sheet Metal Workers to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing business in Greater Manchester. The role starts at 14.89 per hour and is full-time, on-site, in Greater Manchester.

This position offers structured training and mentoring, with the opportunity to progress from general sheet metal work to aerospace-standard manufacturing. Prior aerospace experience is not required as training will be provided.

Qualifications

• General, commercial or manufacturing sheet metal experience.
• Experience marking out, bending, forming and drilling sheet metal.
• Experience with thin aluminium or steel, ideally under 2mm thick.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Safety-focused approach to work.
• Willingness to learn and develop within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.

Responsibilities

• Marking out sheet metal components accurately.
• Bending and forming thin aluminium and steel.
• Drilling and preparing materials generally under 2mm thick.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Measuring components and checking work against drawings and specifications.
• Using appropriate hand tools, measuring equipment and workshop machinery.
• Following safe working practices and company procedures.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised work area.
