Job summary

Owen Daniels in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join its aerospace QA team. You will perform first article inspections and verify components against drawings and customer specs in a precision engineering environment.

Working with Production, Engineering and Quality colleagues, you will help maintain aerospace quality standards, support investigations and contribute to continuous improvement across the business. A strong eye for detail is essential.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years' experience in a Quality Inspection role in aerospace/manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and First Article Inspections per AS9102.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T with dimensional inspection expertise.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment and calibration controls.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out first article inspections per AS9102 requirements and inspect incoming materials, WIP and finished components.
• Use micrometers, verniers, height gauges, bore gauges and CMMs to verify dimensions.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and specifications to ensure aerospace quality.
• Identify and report non-conforming products and maintain traceability records.
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering to investigate quality issues and support audits.
