Job summary

Livelink Aerospace, based in Havant, is seeking an Assembly Technician to join the production team. The role covers PCB assembly, prototype production, and hands-on assembly of electromechanical systems for aerospace applications.

Candidates will work at the Havant facility with occasional travel to Lavant for prototype projects. You will perform high-quality soldering, cable assembly, and document build logs while supporting DFx feedback to engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience in electronic and electromechanical assembly, ideally in aerospace/defense/automotive/medical devices.
• Proficiency in Through-Hole and SMT soldering.
• Strong knowledge of cable assembly, wiring, and loom work.
• Ability to read complex engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with IPC-standard inspection and PCB rework.

Responsibilities

• Conventional PCB assembly using through-hole and SMT technologies.
• High-standard hand soldering for Through-Hole and SMT components.
• Fabricate, route, and tie wiring harnesses and cable assemblies to aerospace specs.
• Assemble mechanical components with electronic systems (electromechanical assembly).
• Assemble first-run prototype builds and provide design-for-manufacture feedback.
• Perform visual/IPC inspections of own work and incoming assemblies.
• Carry out rework, trace repairs, and engineering modifications on populated PCBs.
• Follow schematics, wiring diagrams, and build logs for documentation.
