Job summary

StandardAero is seeking an experienced aerospace grinding technician in the UK. You will operate manual grinding machines to repair and overhaul aerospace components, ensuring precise dimensions, tolerances and surface finishes as per drawings and specifications.

You will read engineering drawings, perform dimensional inspections with CMM or similar tools, and maintain equipment in safe working order while collaborating with engineers and other departments to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• HNC in Engineering or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience in regulated engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with aerospace component repair and quality requirements.
• Experience with CMM or advanced dimensional inspection methods.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement principles.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual grinding machines to repair and overhaul aerospace components.
• Grind to specified dimensions, tolerances, finishes and profiles.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carry out dimensional inspections and quality checks.
• Maintain equipment and tooling in a safe, serviceable condition.
• Work with engineers and technicians to support production priorities.
