Job summary

DCV Technologies is seeking an experienced Assembly Operator & Tester for our aerospace manufacturing operations in the Fareham area. You will assemble, test and adjust precision components to engineering drawings and safety-critical standards.

The role requires hands-on skills in mechanical assembly, component testing and the use of precision measuring equipment, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical assembly experience in aerospace or safety-critical environments.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
• Experience with at least two: soldering, potting, brazing, grit blasting, marking or electrical testing.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers).
• Commitment to quality, health and safety.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Carry out precision mechanical assembly and manual assembly of components and sub-assemblies.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manufacturing work instructions.
• Set up and operate jigs, fixtures and assembly or testing equipment.
• Perform component testing, inspection and measurement to required quality standards.
• Support manufacturing processes including soldering, potting, brazing, grit blasting, part marking and electrical testing.
• Identify manufacturing defects, support root cause analysis and maintain accurate production records.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, kaizen and continuous improvement activities.
• Work closely with Production Engineering, Quality Engineering and Operations teams to improve manufacturing processes.
