Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Wolverhampton is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team onsite. You will lead mechanical design activities, develop design calculations, and create test plans while collaborating with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure design integrity and compliance throughout the product life cycle.

The role emphasizes experience with aerospace design, NX CAD, and Teamcenter PLM, with a focus on welded/brazed fabrications, stress analysis, and thermal performance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex design solutions in aerospace environments.
• Experience with welded and brazed fabrications is desirable.
• Proficiency in NX CAD and PLM (Teamcenter).
• Understanding of stress analysis and thermal performance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities across projects from concept to validation.
• Prepare design calculations, reports, and test plans to support project deliverables.
• Support production activities and respond to engineering change requests.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to integrate designs into production workflows.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to problem-solving during development.
