Job summary

Thompson Aero Seating in Banbridge, Northern Ireland, seeks a Design Engineer to deliver innovative design solutions for new concepts and customisation of existing products for global customers. You will create 3D models, 2D drawings, electrical layouts and BOM configurations, within a multi-disciplinary team and compliant with aerospace regulations.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in relevant Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong 3D CAD modelling skills.
• Previous experience in a Design and/or Engineering related role.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Strong IT skills including MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models of parts and assemblies.
• Produce 2D detail drawings of parts and 2D assembly drawings.
• Produce electrical harness routing and equipment layouts.
• Produce 2D and 3D PDFs of electrical harness and equipment layouts.
• Assembly and BOM configuration.
• Release of engineering drawings following company release procedures.
• Change management of engineering drawings following company release procedures.
• Support prototype hardware build through NPI development.
• Contribute to design solutions.
• Work collaboratively as part of an integrated project team.
• Deliver work packages to the project plan, within company procedures.
