Job summary

SII Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support our Hardware Engineering function in delivering cross-functional engineering projects. You will develop detailed mechanical designs, produce engineering drawings, and support products through the lifecycle, collaborating with stakeholders across engineering and the wider business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Experience producing detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings.
• Good knowledge and practical application of BS 8888.
• Experience working with 3D CAD/CAE engineering applications.
• Understanding of engineering change and configuration-controlled environments.
• Experience working with BOMs and technical/product documentation.
• Ability to analyse and resolve complex mechanical engineering issues.
• Experience participating in or leading design reviews.
• Ability to manage mechanical engineering work packages.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs using a range of CAE tools.
• Apply engineering principles to make informed decisions on complex technical issues.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings in accordance with BS 8888.
• Maintain product and engineering documentation in line with departmental processes.
• Work collaboratively with engineering teams and other stakeholders to develop robust product designs.
• Support engineering change activities, maintaining BOM and process integrity.
• Lead and participate in design reviews.
• Lead and deliver mechanical engineering work packages.
• Support projects through the wider product development lifecycle.
