Job summary

Matchtech are recruiting a Materials Planner for a leading aerospace manufacturing client in Wimborne. This 3-month contract is fully onsite with an hourly rate of £25-£30 inside IR35.

You will manage material requirements, monitor stock, raise purchase requisitions and work closely with suppliers to keep production on schedule. Experience in aerospace or manufacturing, strong MRP/ERP knowledge, and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, defence or manufacturing environments.
• Previous experience in a Materials Planner, Production Planner, Supply Chain Planner or similar role.
• Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and inventory management principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (Pivot tables, V-LOOKUPS)

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage material requirements to support production schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and take proactive action to avoid shortages or excess stock.
• Raise and manage purchase requisitions and expedite deliveries where required.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure material availability.
• Maintain accurate planning parameters and material data within the ERP/MRP system.
• Analyse demand, supply and inventory trends to identify risks and opportunities.
• Support resolution of material shortages and supply chain disruptions.
• Generate planning reports and communicate status updates to key stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
